Hey
Warmonger's! It's that time again...it's time for a blog post. ;) It's been a
bit since this site was back up. To be honest it was Jan 28th 2012
that the site went down...and it did not come back up till 2-7-2012. Now that's
a wile if you ask me. But oh well it's back to the fray right!
So I
wanted to talk to you guys about games. Not just video games but games in
general. More important is what make you play these games? I mean there are
many, many types of games out there form MMO's to tabletop war gaming. What
drives you to play these games? I cannot answer that question for you but
I can answer that question for me.
So
let’s look at the tabletop side of things...since that's why I started this
whole warmonger movement in the first place. ;) Tabletop gaming
has been a love of mine since I got out of high school. But to be honest the
main love has always been painting. I mean heck back in high school I
wanted to be a comic book artist but for some reason I never really
followed that up. So the art side of it has always been a main
love. But just because it was my main love that does not mean I do not
like the game side…because I do. It’s just that the painting fuels my gaming
desire. So when I play a tabletop game my thing is I want my army to be the
best looking on the table…so I paint them to play in a sense.
If I play and they are not painted…I have fun but it
just does not feel the same to me. Now don’t get me wrong when I play I have
fun I just want my miniatures and terrain to look the best it can always. So to
make the answer short…the art side fuels my tabletop needs…when I have people
to play the games with me.
Now on to Video gaming!

These are the three that I either play or looking forward to.
Video gaming has always been a passion for me since I
was a young kid. Like most of you I grew up when video gaming was just coming into
style. Back in the old Nintendo days…I had all the games Mega Man, Street
Fighter, Final Fantasy, Contra, oh a Star Fox and I play them all the time. They
were fun and an escape for me whenever I did not feel like messing with the
kids around the blocks crap the seemed to deal out. I got very good at these
games…I remember the days I would go to the arcade with a dollar and play
street fighter all day cause I would rule the machine. This was fun for me…but everything
changed when Everquest came into the picture. This was a whole new ball game
for me. Not only could I play a fun game but I could play with all my friends
and slay a dragon at the same time. Keep in mind I did not like the course runs…oh
they sucked, but oh yeah on with the story. I grew to love the MMO rpg type of
games because it was more of an outlet for me and It became my social outlet in
a way. When I was not playing a tabletop game I was sure to be online or out
with my Wife/Girlfriend at the time. Yes I had a life, and still do. *smile*
Today video games represent a escape for me. When I have a bad day at work all
I want to do it hit something…well I just load up wow and hit something and in
fine. Another good part of WOW or any game these days is that all my good
friends are grown like me and have life’s with kids and we don’t get together
that much anymore. WoW is perfect ways to get together…we just open up vent
connect to our wow server and we are hanging out.
So that’s what motivates me to play games…it’s all
about the art and friends. To me that’s all that matters. What matters to you? I
would love to know…comment below and tell me.
Later Warmongers!

As for computer games I love them. I'm hooked on Skyrim right now, just like I was on Diablo 2 back when I was at uni. I miss my bonemancer (I know that sounds kinda rude but I'm pretty sure thats the tehnical term for him). Might start playing it again. I'm really looking forward to diablo 3, and mass effect 3 for that matter (if you've not played mass effect then why not? play it now!). Actually the reason I play nomads for infinity is because they remind me of the quarians from mass effect. Not in the looks department but because they are both ship dwelling societies with hacking specialites.
